Gurudongmar Lake

Gurudongmar Lake is a breathtaking high-altitude lake located in North Sikkim, India.Gurudongmar Lake is situated at an elevation of approximately 5,183 meters (17,000 feet) above sea level. It is one of the highest lakes in the world and is surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains. Gurudongmar Lake holds great religious significance for both Buddhists and Sikhs. According to legend, Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, visited the lake during his journey to Tibet and blessed it. The lake is named after him, and it is believed that the water of Gurudongmar Lake has miraculous healing properties.

Rumtek Monastery

Rumtek Monastery, also known as the Dharma Chakra Centre, is a significant Buddhist monastery located near Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, India. Rumtek Monastery holds great historical and religious importance. It is the largest and most prominent monastery in Sikkim and serves as the seat of the Karmapa, the head of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery was originally built in the 16th century, but the present structure was constructed in the 1960s.

Explore Baba Mandir: From Tsomgo Lake, proceed to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to an Indian Army soldier. Learn about the legend and pay your respects. Return to Gangtok and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3

Depart from Gangtok and head towards Lachen, a scenic mountain village in North Sikkim. Enroute, visit Singhik Viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Khangchendzonga and the Teesta River. Arrive in Lachen, check-in at your hotel, and relax for the day. Overnight stay in Lachen.

Day 4

Early morning, visit the mesmerizing Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. Marvel at the pristine beauty and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Return to Lachen for breakfast and then proceed towards Lachung, another picturesque village in North Sikkim. Visit the beautiful Yumthang Valley, known as the Valley of Flowers, and enjoy the natural splendor of the alpine flowers (subject to season). Check-in at your hotel in Lachung and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Lachung.

Day 5

After breakfast, visit the stunning Katao Valley (subject to availability and permits) or enjoy a leisurely walk around Lachung village. Return to Gangtok and check-in at your hotel. Spend the evening exploring MG Road and indulging in local cuisine. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
